BIRD IS THE WORD!

Hey hey hey! We´ve been away, but thou shalt not worry, we´re here to stay. That was my morning poem after sleeping for four hours (damned spring cold, getting between the girl and her beauty sleep), so please excuse the badness of it. Yeah.

Anyhow - a busy busy Bitty-spring is nearing its end, an even busier May month. We´ve been having a mini-tour with Sweet Jeena and Her Sweethearts on their record release parties in Tampere and Helsinki - the above video is from Helsinki, late April; there´s still one more show to go, in Lutakko, Jyväskylä (we´ve never been to Jyväskylä for a show!) next week´s Friday, 17th May. (I´m seriously tempted to top that off with a "Hooray!" to rhyme with "May", but thinking better of it.)

As some of you might remember, we used to do shows with Sweet Jeena and her sweet boys back in time - well, it would seem that those time are coming back in a way, so more gigs together are to be expected. Needless to say, we´re thrilled. After all, our first years were very busy with the monthly rock clubs Club Wanted & Blues Trash Cabaret, in which we were "the house band", that is, "the house burlesque". We´ve been missing that - there´s a laid-back attitude in performing at rock clubs, and of course, the audience is a tad bit different from the burlesque event audience. Both are good! So we´re happy to say that both seem to be on our agenda again.

Quite a few other things have been on our agenda as well, but more on them later. I will now go and doze off in a corner before I have to officially wake up and meet my co-Bitties at Raspberry Fields for our morning rehearsals...

MILAN BURLESQUE AWARDS!

It´s going to be a busy busy traveling spring for the Bitties! Next weekend Kitty & Tinker will be taking over Lappland with the sassy and lovely duo Holy Curves - one hell of a roadtrip, that; you should expect pictures and wild stories (we hope to catch some Northern Lights!) -

... and in March it´s time for the whole troupe to pack their whole gypsy camp (it does slightly remind one of a traveling circus at times, I tell you) and travel all the way to Milan, Italy, to Milan Burlesque Awards where we will be performing as special guests! In the company of Angie Pontani and others, so yeah, safe to say we´re stoked. ♥ Many other amazing performers there, too, such as the aforementioned Finnish beauties Holy Curves, as well as Natsumi Scarlett (we shared the stage with her last autumn, she´s such a doll, skilled and talented and genuinely friendly and sweet, perfect backstage company!), Bettie Bottom Dollar (who´ll be joining us here in the snowy cold North at the Helsinki Burlesque Festival in February!), the Swedish beauty Fräulein Frauke, and many many others.

And in May we will be traveling to Malmö, Sweden, to perform at the Carnevalesque club... more about that later though!

Busy busy bees we are. Bitty-bees. The bitty-bees in your bonnet, n´est-ce pas, hmm? ;) ♥

HBF ´12 - THE TICKETS ARE OUT, GET YOURS!

It´s getting closer and closer - the 5th annual Helsinki Burlesque Festival!

And The Itty-Bitties will be there on that lovely Gloria stage again as well! With *drum roll* a brand new group number, claws and paws crossed, inshallah...! :) And do have a look at what sort of company we´re keeping; you might have heard the names of, say, Miss Indigo Blue (hint: The Reigning Queen of Burlesque 2011), Scotty The Blue Bunny, Erochica Bamboo or Satan´s Angel. Yes yes. And the Finnish performers are all very well represented as well. This is, simply put, a two-day party that you would not want to miss for anything. So you better not! So. Something to expect, right? Maybe even something to give (or get!) as a Xmas/Yule/whatever-holiday-you´re-celebrating present? ;)

I know you´re eager for your regular dose of burlesque in the meantime as well, so here´s another option: New Comers´ Night 2011 with a whole lot of brand new burlesque freshmen, eager to try their wings! We´ll be there cheering them on, so should you! Some of the performer names on that list might already be familiar to some of you... ;)
